Lauren Elliott ~ Owner/Director/Instructor
Ms. Lauren began dancing at the age of 2 at Miss Donna's School of Dance in Charlotte, NC. She moved to the Mt. Pleasant area and began her training under the instruction of Terry Earnhardt (previous owner and founder of Dance Trap) in 1987. She studied Tap, Jazz, Acrobatics, Lyrical and was also a Trapette for 4 years. She went on to further her dance education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she minored in dance and majored in psychology, specializing in child psychology. She taught at Dance Trap for 2 years before purchasing it in June of 1998. She feels very blessed to have combined her passion for dance with her love for children as a career. She has recently been certified as an instructor in Acrobatic Arts. Lauren currently resides in the Mt. Pleasant area with her husband, Jim and 2 daughters, Ragan (18) and Anna Claire (16).

Mackenzie Loudin ~ Instructor
Ms. Mackenzie started dancing at the age of 2. She began dancing at Let's Dance in Kannapolis, NC and moved to Dance Trap when she was 12. She studied Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop. She was a member of the Competition Team for 11 years and was also a Trapette for 4 years. She was a Concord High School Cheerleader for four years. Mackenzie is currently working as a Cosmetologist. She has been teaching Jazz & Lyrical for Dance Trap for 6 years. She resides in Concord with her husband, David, and has 2 dogs, Walter & Wrigley.
Heather Freire ~ Instructor
Ms. Heather recently moved to Charlotte from Los Angeles, where she resided for 5 1/2 years exploring her horizons with dance on the west coast. She has been dancing for 28 years and received her Bachelor of Performing Arts degree from Oklahoma City University in 2003. Heather has danced and choreographed with multiple companies including the Joseph Allen Decker Dance Co., Deborah Brockus Project Dance Co., Kybele Dance Co., and The Illinois Ballet to name a few. She has also worked with Holland America Cruise Line, where she was Dance Captain as well as a featured dancer, traveling throughout Hawaii and Alaska, East/West Caribbean, and Panama Canal. She has performed in Sydney, Australia and Beijing, China as well.
Heather has had an extensive amount of dance training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern, Partnering, Swing, and Hip Hop. She has enhanced her training by attending workshops with the infamous Donald O’Connor, Leonard Reed, Rhonda Miller, Dana Michaels, Debbi Dee, and Scott Benson.
While attending OCU, she helped create A Chance to Dance program that emphasized dance movement as an outlet for emotionally disturbed children in the St. Anthony’s Hospital Children’s ward in Oklahoma City. She was also a dancer for UNICEF with choreographer June Taylor and special guests Audrey Hepburn and Liza Minnelli.
She has been teaching at Dance Trap for 4 years. She currently resides in Charlotte with her husband, Renato, and their 2 children, Dominick (8) & Juliana (5).
